The Flash Season 2, Episode 15 Synopsis: King Shark

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water in Central City … Sorry, that was the obvious joke for this week’s new episode of The Flash, “King Shark,” and spurred on in part by the Jaws-themed promos that The CW has been running for Season 2, episode 15.

More from TV

You may recall that King Shark has made one appearance already on The Flash, grabbing an unsuspecting Barry Allen from behind before quickly being dispatched by Harrison “Harry” Wells in the Earth-2 refugee’s first major act on the series. Now the villain is coming back for revenge, but at least the Fastest Man Alive will get some prior warning thanks to some familiar faces from Arrow.

Read the official synopsis for “King Shark” from The CW to see what we mean:

"When King Shark escapes from an A.R.G.U.S. holding tank, Lila and Diggle travel to Central City to warn The Flash. King Shark shows up at the West house and attacks Joe, Iris, Wally and Barry."

As nice as it will be to see Diggle and get a proper showdown with the aquatic villain, there are so many hanging plot threads left over from the previous two episodes that it seems impossible that some of them won’t be touched on this week. Is Jay Garrick dead? Was he really Jay in the first place? Who was the man in the iron mask and can Barry go back for him as he promised now that the final breach between worlds has been sealed?

Barry’s best friends may also have some unresolved issues. Caitlin Snow just saw another man she loved killed before her eyes and can’t be holding up too well. And Cisco Ramon still has to come to grips with the fact that his Earth-2 doppelganger was not only a bad guy, but one who learned to tap into his powers in a much more extensive way.

Add it all up and we’re looking at a pretty full hour of TV on February 23 at 8 pm on The CW. After “King Shark” has made its East Coast debut, we’d love for you to rejoin us here at Bam Smack Pow for our full recap and review.

And might we suggest checking out a new edition of The Flash After Show from theStream.tv? Hosts Adam Kruger, Devon Stewart, Carolina Bonetti and Jack Hind will be ready to dive into episode 15 at 9:15 Eastern time on Tuesday night, incorporating user questions tweeted to them with the hashtag #TheFlashAS.
