Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice won’t get a theater release as an R-rated movie. But it will get an R-rated release for Blu-ray in the form of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition. This rankings list is still fun to speculate on though. Could you have ever imagined, in your wildest dreams, a day when a film that featured your childhood heroes was going to get an R-rating? It just shows how serious director Zack Snyder and company want to treat the new DC Extended Universe.
R-rated superhero movies aren’t that uncommon nowadays, but having them break into any sort of box office rankings while still emblazoned with the restrictive letter can be a challenge. If the recent release of Deadpool (2016) has proved anything, it’s that you should always stay close to the source material. If the source material is R-rated, then your movie should be also. And that’s why Deadpool (2016) is still climbing the ranks on many box office lists.
