Adam West calls Christian Bale “overrated” on Big Bang Theory

Like or hate it, the Big Bang Theory is an extremely popular show that embraces many aspects of geek culture. For Big Bang Theory’s landmark 200th episode, “The Celebration Experimentation”, Adam West showed up to hang out with the guys as himself. Of course, if you are going to hang out with Adam West all day, the subject of who the best Batman is is going to come up at some point.

And that’s exactly what happens in this clip from the Big Bang Theory. Not suprisingly, West ranks himself first, but ranks arguably the most popular (and certainly the one starring in the highest grossing films) Batman, Christian Bale, second to last, only ahead of Batman franchise kryptonite George Clooney. West isn’t even that harsh on Clooney, merely ranking him last without much mention beyond calling him a “pretty boy”, which is hardly an insult anyways. Watch the clip from Big Bang Theory’s 200th episode below:

To be fair, this may not even be what Adam West truly, thinks, just what the Big Bang Theory writers thought would be funniest (and probably would get a reaction out of reactionary fanboys who don’t even watch the show in the first place). Although I’m sure if Adam West took serious issue with the scene, they would have changed it for him. Is Bale overrated? Maybe. But is he lower than Val Kilmer & Lego Batman? That I’m not so sure of. Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays on CBS.
