Valiant Prepares For A&A Premiere With Cold Beer
By Matt Conner
Valiant Entertainment is relaunching Harvey-award-nominated series Archer & Armstrong next week as A&A, and they are pulling out all the stops to make sure people know there’s a fun-loving book on the way!
For starters, they have assembled the following fun images introducing readers to the key players in the new series, including new villain Bacchus and a mysterious talking mackerel named Davey:
The plot (Archer and Armstrong adventure into Armstrong’s bottomless satchel) is teased a little more with the latest animated trailer:
Series writer Rafer Roberts had an extensive talk with Bam Smack Pow, which can be found here.
And in the most appropriately out-there stunt yet, Valiant has partnered with Chicago’s Arcade Brewery to produce a limited-edition American Pale Ale available at this month’s C2E2 convention in Chicago. The brew will be 7.0% alcohol by volume and is described as “all the fight of a long night out with Armstrong… but is slightly sweet enough to keep Archer in the game, too!” This will premiere at a release party Saturday, March 19th from 7 to 11 PM at Headquarters Beercade (213 W. Institute Pl., Chicago, IL 60610) but will then be available at Chicago-area bottle shops. Party attendees can have Brewery Variant covers signed on-site by writer Rafer Roberts and enter to win a door prize of a bottomless satchel of A&A swag.
