“The Ball of Mud and Meanness” — the fourteenth episode of Gotham had Alfred and Bruce going on the hunt for Matches Malone. When Alfred becomes injured from the first leg of their search — due to a brawl with the leader of a gang — Bruce adamantly takes it upon himself to find Malone. Armed with a gun, provided to him by Selina, Bruce traversed the seediest areas of Gotham.

Bruce finally finds the murderer of his parents. However, he discovers that the man is an aging hitman who actually wants to die. Bruce finally makes the decision not to kill him. Malone, though, took his own life. In the final scenes, Alfred discovers that Bruce has left Wayne Manor to live on the streets with Selina, as to give him a new perspective on criminals. Bruce also comes to the realization that he cannot “kill” murder — a philosophy which we all know will propel him into becoming the Dark Knight.

This week, we may see how Bruce is doing without the luxuries of wealth. But it seems that the meat of this episode will deal with Jim’s new problems: Barnes investigating Jim for the murder of Theo Galavan. Here’s the official synopsis for “Wrath of the Villains: Mad Grey Dawn”:

"Gordon and Bullock investigate a trail of clues left in a museum robbery, which, unbeknownst to them, were left by Nygma in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse. Meanwhile, Gordon’s past comes back to haunt him when an anonymous person threatens to expose his hand in Galavan’s murder. Also, Penguin’s visit to some old friends leads him to meet his father, Elijah Van Dalh (guest star Paul Reubens), and Bruce practices his street smarts."
