Wonder Woman: First Look At The Amazons
By Steve Lam
Via Entertainment Weekly, we have our first look at Diana and the Amazons, who are appearing in 2017’s Wonder Woman.
Standing steadfast and strong, you can see Diana of Themyscira and her mother and aunts — Queen Hippolyta, General Antiope, and Lieutenant Menalippe — armed to the hilt. Fans will definitely notice that she’s not wearing her traditional red, blue, and gold uniform.
In recent interviews, actress Gal Gadot, who will be playing the Goddess of Truth, has stated that the superheroine audiences will be seeing in the 2017 film will not be like how her character is portrayed in the just released Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That’s because Diana in Wonder Woman will be much younger and more naive. So perhaps this was her uniform when she was still in training. In the comics, Wonder Woman is actually awarded her famous outfit after besting her Amazonian sisters in various challenges.
Wonder Woman has a release date of June 23, 2017. It will be produced by Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder with Charles Roven and Richard Suckle of Atlas Entertainment, directed by Patty Jenkins, written by Jason Fuchs, and stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Lisa Loven Kongsli as Lieutenant Menalippe, and Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Lucy Davis, and Elena Anaya in undisclosed roles.
Fans can get their first look at Wonder Woman in the DC Extended Universe in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which was released on March 25, 2016.
