Preview: Avengers Standoff: Assault On Pleasant Hill Omega #1

The Avengers Standoff event comes to a conclusion this April as the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes face off against Baron Zemo and his super-villain allies with all of reality at stake.

So far, Avengers Standoff has been something of a slow burn, with the story gradually building over the course of the main Avengers titles. It’s the kind of crossover you don’t see that much anymore, where the story moves from issue to issue without the need to read half of the books Marvel publishes in a given month.

But next month sees things move into high gear as it all builds towards the explosive finale in Avengers Standoff: Assault On Pleasant Hill Omega #1. Written by Nick Spencer with art by Daniel Acuna, the final part of the Standoff mini-event promises high stakes, big action and the rebirth of the Thunderbolts.

The return of the Thunderbolts is something I have been looking forward to for quite a while now. I was a huge fan of the original team so seeing them return to glory makes this book a must-buy for me. And adding the Winter Soldier to the concept is just the icing on the cake.
