Extended Preview Of The Killing Joke Movie

Check out this in-depth preview of The Killing Joke Movie

The long-awaited adaptation of The Killing Joke into a film is finally coming our way this year. It’s one of the most seminal graphic novels of all time, but also one of the most controversial due to it’s subject matter and disturbing violence.

This ten-minute preview of the upcoming Killing Joke movie goes into the journey of making it an animated film, the challenges they faced adapting it to a movie format and a general description of what the Killing Joke is all about in case you did not know the story. Check it out below:

Next: Jared Leto: Joker Is Very Special

Killing Joke features a legendary team in DC animation getting back together, as Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League, etc), Kevin Conroy, who has voiced Batman for over two decades ever since Batman: Animated Series, and Mark Hamill, who has been the voice of Joker for the same amount of time are all back together for this movie.

I do like that they are adding much more Batgirl to the story in order to actually make The Killing Joke long enough for a feature film. One of the biggest complaints about the comic is that Barbara Gordon/Batgirl isn’t really a character in the story, just a prop or a plot point. Spending more time with her and fleshing out her story would go a long way towards correcting that. That being said though, if you didn’t like The Killing Joke in it’s original form, this probably won’t change your mind and is set to possibly be the most violent animated movie DC has released to date. The Killing Joke will have it’s premiere at this year’s San Diego Comic Con and release on digital formats and DVD/Blu-Ray sometime this Summer. We here at Caped Crusades will be sure to review it when it comes out.
