Gotham Season 2, Episode 17 Synopsis: “Wrath Of The Villains: Into The Woods”

“Prisoners” showed Jim’s daily routine as an inmate at Blackgate Penitentiary. However, it wasn’t long before he was targeted by another inmate whose brother was part of the Red Hood gang — the notorious bank robbers brought down by Jim. Harvey, seeing his pal and partner in trouble, concocted, with the help of Falcone, a daring escape plan which involved Jim faking his death.

Meanwhile, Penguin was living a new life with his long lost father — Elijah Van Dahl. Having been programmed to be nonviolent by the infamous Dr. Strange, Penguin was coming to terms with his murderous past self. Everything seemed to be going well until his step-family wanted him exposed as a fraud. With their plans to inherit Elijah’s wealth after his passing, the family moved to quickly take out Penguin. But they kill Elijah instead, when he takes a drink that was intended for his son.

This week, we’ll see how a devastated Penguin is coping with the loss of the only other person he ever loved besides his mother. On the Jim front, the former detective, now fugitive, must return to Gotham and find a way to clear his name, so that he can get back to Leslie. Here’s the official synopsis for “Wrath of the Villains: Into the Woods”:

"GORDON DISCOVERS A CLUE, WHILE PENGUIN HAS A CHANGE OF HEART ON AN ALL-NEW “GOTHAM” MONDAY, APRIL 11, ON FOXIn an attempt to clear his name, Gordon steals his case file and approaches Nygma for help. Meanwhile, Penguin discovers his step-family’s role in his father’s death, and awakens from his conditioning in the all-new “Wrath of the Villains: Into the Woods” episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, April 11 (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX."
