Agents of SHIELD: Whose Death Does Daisy See?

facebooktwitterreddit

Agents of SHIELD likes to make me ask questions. Last week I wondered what death Gideon Malick saw thanks to Charles the Inhuman. This week, I’m wondering who Daisy saw die when Charles touched her.

Let’s assume what Daisy sees of the death is all we’ve been shown of the death: just a sleeve with a SHIELD logo on the jacket, no face to give us any clue as to who it is. It’s more than likely a fake-out.

But let’s pretend it’s not and try to figure out who might soon be dearly departed in our SHIELD ranks.

FitzSimmons: Our tortured lovebirds/Nerd Herd crew has certainly been through the ringer throughout the entirety ofAgents of SHIELD. Their death(s) just do(es)n’t fit. We’ve been teased by it too many times: Grant Ward dumping them in the middle of the ocean with a limited air supply. Simmons going undercover with Hydra. Simmons getting sent to a mystery planet. Fitz traveling to said mystery planet to save her.

To have them actually die would feel like almost too much of a letdown at this point. This is a low probability in my book.

Mack: Agents of SHIELD has an issue with killing off its black characters (I’m still in denial about Agent Triplett), or faking us out with their deaths (i.e. Deathlok and Andrew). I have a feeling if they decided to pull the trigger on Mack, fans would revolt. Likewise, we need some sort of remnant of the Bobbi and Hunter era and a gateway to bring them back on the show if things go south with that spinoff. This is a low probability as well.

Daisy: Flat-out no, unless they really want to throw us for a loop. Skye/Daisy has had so much buildup from being a hacker Mary-Sue-type special snowflake character to turning into a much better character with sweet powers. It would be a huge waste to kill her off the show, especially since she’s one of the main characters.

Lincoln: Out of everyone I’ve listed so far, Lincoln’s death seems like the most probable. It would give Daisy yet another tragic loss, this one much closer to home. It could send her spiraling and give her a dark character arc for season four. Plus, if this is more of a sacrificial situation (which I feel like it probably is), it makes him into more of a redeemed hero rather than just a moody, bland character that’s supposed to have a romantic spark with Daisy (pun intended).

Coulson: They brought him back from the dead, why would they kill him now? Unless we’re going to pull a Once Upon A Time and have us traveling to the Underworld to try to save him.

May: This show already sent off one badass female character. They’d be stupid to get rid of another.

Any of the Secret Warriors/Deathlok: This gang might also have a high probability. They technically are a part of SHIELD, albeit a secret one (pun intended again, and they would be much more expendable than any of our main characters

Andrew/Lash: This one is a wild card. May/Simmons gave him their potential cure. It appears to not have worked because he made his final transformation into Lash. But it’s all a theory; Simmons believes it will only help those who have yet to go through Terrigenesis. But what if it just takes some time to take hold and eradicate the Inhuman DNA?

What if Lash somehow transforms back into Andrew at a pivotal moment and then proceeds to sacrifice himself to save the greater good? Or, you know, something else X-Men-ish. It would give him a bit of a redeeming finish and give May some peace as well.

Well, what do you guys think? Who’s the most probable death on our SHIELD team?
