Batgirl from Arkham Knight is getting her own Play Arts Kai figure

Arkham Knight is the epic conclusion to the seminal Batman Arkam video game series. And as such, it’s inspired a lot of cool merchandise of its own, including some figures in Square Enix’s Play Arts Kai series. And they just announced their latest one, based on Batgirl from Arkham Knight!

Now, Batgirl doesn’t make an appearance in the main Arkham Knight game. Barbara Gordon’s handicapped alter-ego Oracle is very central to the story of Arkham Knight, but you do get to play as Batgirl before her fateful encounter with the Joker that left her paralyzed. In the first major story DLC released for Arkham Knight, which was called “A Matter of Family” and featured Batgirl and Robin going up against the Joker and Harley Quinn, who have taken Barbara Gordon’s father, Comissioner James Gordon, hostage. The “Matter Of Family” DLC actually takes place even before the first game in the Arkham series, Arkham Asylum.

Sadly, this DLC (and really, all of the dlc for Arkham Knight) was pretty underwhelming, as not only was it short, but instead of having her own unique playstyle, Batgirl was just a weaker clone of Batman so it didn’t feel any different. But that shouldn’t stop you from getting excited about Square Enix’s recently announced Play Arts Kai Batgirl figure based on that DLC, because she looks pretty cool. Check out a gallery of her below:

Next: Batman Beyond Bathrobe!

This Play Arts Kai Batgirl figure stands a 10″ tall, with a hard plastic cape that has a few points of articulation. As you can see in the gallery above it will come with a stand, interchangeable hands, a grapple gun and a batarang. It will be available in August for about $120 in U.S. currency, which for such a cool figure seems perfectly reasonable. Arkham Knight, where this figure is based from is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC (though don’t get that version, it’s a mess) now.
