DC Universe Online Available For Xbox One Now

Team Up With DC’s Greatest Heroes Or Their Deadliest Villains in DC Universe Online, now available on the Xbox One!

Well thankfully that wasn’t much of a wait. We only got an announcement mere days ago that DC Universe Online was coming to the Xbox One “soon”, but of course “soon” is relative. It could’ve meant days, weeks or even months. Luckily, in this case “soon” means now. DC Universe Online is available right now on Xbox One!

Sadly, in case you didn’t see  our last story on DC Universe Online, it will not feature cross-platform play, so you won’t be able to interact with your buddies on PS4, PS3 or PC servers. You also can’t transfer characters to your Xbox One, so you’ll have to start a brand new character.

The good news is that content-wise, Xbox One owners will not be left out in the cold. Everything from expansion packs to legends and extra powers that have been available to players of DC Universe Online for other platforms should be available to Xbox One owners as well. And future content is planned for simultaneous release on all platforms.

Granted, the lack of cross-platform play and no ability to transfer characters is disappointing, but as a lapsed DC Universe Online player, I actually find this incredibly tempting to jump back in and have a fresh start. DC Universe online is easily one of the best MMOs availble on console (granted, that’s not a huge field) and while it does bare plenty of base similarities to World of Warcraft, the DC flavor and huge amount of fan service in the game and constant updating make it a worthwhile endeavor. Of course, if you don’t have an Xbox One but haven’t tried out DC Universe Online for yourself yet, now is as good as time as any and it’s free to lay without being super shady about it, so you’ve got very little to lose by giving it a shot.
