The Killing Joke movie could be out in three months!
The Killing Joke movie is coming this Summer. It’s one of the most seminal Batman (or really Joker) stories of all time. And for the movie, much of the team responsible for the best comic animated series of the last couple of decades is reteaming for the effort. Bruce Timm, creator of what is known as the “Timmverse”. Kevin Conroy, the definitive voice of Batman, and the equally definitive voice of The Joker, Mark Hamill.
We know that The Killing Joke movie will make its debut at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, but we haven’t had anything on a release date beyond the vague period of “Summer”. Now Amazon may have let the cat out of the bag. Their order page for The Killing Joke Movie lists the film as coming out on August 2nd.

Now, this certainly sounds reasonable. August 2nd is certainly “Summer”, and right before Suicide Squad comes out, so a great time to capitalize on big DC movie hype. But this is not the first time Amazon has listed the release date of a movie on home video only to have Warner Bros. shoot it down later. Amazon listed the home video release of Batman v Superman as July 16th, and Warner Bros. has since come out and said that was in fact not the release date, and has not actually given us an official release date yet. So while the August 2nd release date for The Killing Joke movie certainly seems likely, we have gotten no official word from Warner Bros. on the release date yet, so it might not be true. We just know for sure that The Killing Joke will premiere at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, and is due out sometime this Summer.
