The Flash Season 2, Episode 21 Synopsis: “The Runaway Dinosaur”
By Steve Lam
This week on The Flash, Girder returns, and the team must find a way to battle him without Barry.
“Rupture” had Harry, Henry, and Joe arguing about what would be best for Barry in terms of him regaining his powers. At the end, Barry made it clear that he was going forward with recreating a controlled version of the particle accelerator accident.

Meanwhile, Cisco vibed on his brother, Dante. When he finds him, Cisco discovers that he actually vibed on Dante’s Earth-2 doppelganger, Rupture, who arrived to exact revenge for Reverb’s death. However, Zoom had plans for Rupture to attack CCPD. Caitlin warns the CCPD, but Zoom quickly catches on and kills the awaiting police officers–snapping each of their necks at lightening speed. After seeing the carnage, Barry moves forward with the plan to recreate the explosion via the particle accelerator.
Zoom, seeing that the particle accelerator was firing up, raced over to STAR Labs. As the accident was recreated, Barry was seemingly disintegrated. The only thing left was a chest piece from his Flash costume.
Being fans of the Flash, we all know our hero didn’t die. He was most likely transported to another dimension (Speed Force?). This week, we’ll see how Barry will make his way back to the real world, and how his friends are handling a world without the Flash. Here’s the official synopsis for “The Runaway Dinosaur”:
"KEVIN SMITH DIRECTS – With Barry (Grant Gustin) gone, the team must figure out a way to handle the return of an old enemy – Girder (guest star Greg Finley). Realizing Girder is retracing his steps from his last attack, Iris (Candice Patton) volunteers to act as bait to trap him in S.T.A.R. Labs. Meanwhile, Barry fights to return to his old life."
