A Suicide Squad/Gotham Crossover?
Discussion of a crossover between Suicide Squad and Gotham apparently comes up often in the Smith household
It might be kind of weird to think about, but Hollywood powerhouse family the Smiths are actually heavily invested in the world of comic book movies and TV, specifically DC. Jada Pinkett Smith was one of the breakout performances of the first season of the TV show Gotham as mob boss Fish Mooney (and is due to return from the dead this Monday, like most comic book villains do). And Will Smith will be one of the leads in DC’s other big 2016 comic book movie, Suicide Squad. But could the two ever work together on a comic book project? Apparently it has crossed their minds quite a bit, specifically doing a crossover between Gotham and Suicide Squad, as Jada Pinkett Smith talked about in a recent interview:
"We have definitely talked about the possibility. We’re always in the house, just going off with different creative scenarios; we’ve definitely talked about a meeting-up of Deadshot and Fish Mooney."
And of course it’s only natural to wonder who would win a fight. The Gotham actress concedes that previously, her Suicide Squad star husband might have had the upper hand, but with her resurrection on Gotham, which she refers to as “Fish 2.0”, she says “he doesn’t stand a chance against Fish!.”
Interestingly enough, Jada Pinkett Smith is the comic book nut of the family, noting that Deadshot is actually her favorite character and she’s the one who got the kids into comics at an early age.

Of course, the odds of this exact crossover happening are virtually nil, so there’s no reason to get excited (or upset for that matter, I guess). But it’s definitely conceivable that we could see Will Smith pop up on Gotham someday, possibly as an ace assassin of some kind not named Deadshot…
