The Flash Season 2, Episode 22 Synopsis: “Invincible”
By Steve Lam
This week on The Flash, Season Three’s penultimate episode will see an army of evil meta-humans from Earth-2 take over Central City. It’ll be up to the newly repowered Barry to stop them and their leader—Zoom.
Last week on The Flash, “The Runaway Dinosaur” had Barry stuck in another dimension where he actually met the embodiment of the Speed Force, albeit in the forms of Joe West, Iris West, and his mother, Nora Allen.

Back in the real world, Cisco vibed on Barry and saw that he was actually trapped in that dimension. Cisco attempted to get him to cross over, but Barry refused—he had unfinished business and needed to get his speed back.
As always, Team Flash didn’t just have one problem to deal with. Little did they know, when Harry tried to recreate the particle accelerator explosion, the energy released resurrected Girder. Escaping the confines of STAR Labs, Girder went on a rampage throughout the city looking for the one thing on his zombie mind—Iris.
Well, it turned out that Iris was the whole key to this episode. Not only was she bait for Girder, she was also Barry’s anchor. After luring Girder back in, the team underestimated his resistance to their trap. With Cisco’s help and nowhere else to go, Iris finally reached Barry.
In the other dimension, Barry came to terms with his guilt over letting his mother die again (Season One events), allowing him to regain his speedster powers. Barry finally saw Iris and was able to return to the real world. Once back, he quickly defeated Girder.
The final scenes of the episode had Zoom showing Caitlin his master plan—using evil Earth-2 meta-humans to take over Central City. This week, we’ll see how a newly repowered Barry will stop those meta-humans and, ultimately, Zoom. Here’s the official synopsis for “Invincible”:
"After Zoom (guest star Teddy Sears) unleashes an army of Earth-2 meta-humans on Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is shaken when he sees their leader is the Black Canary’s Earth-2 doppelganger, the Black Siren (guest star Katie Cassidy). Meanwhile, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) takes to the streets to help The Flash stop the meta-humans, which worries Joe (Jesse L. Martin). Iris (Candice Patton) and Henry (guest star John Wesley Shipp) are concerned about Barry taking on Zoom."
