The first two Arkham games come together in one package for PS4 & Xbox One in Batman: Return To Arkham!

After many, many leaks and supposed release dates, we finally have official confirmation and a release date for the remaster collection everyone knew was coming. Batman: Return To Arkham will feature arguably the two best comic book video games ever made, Arkham Asylum & Arkham City. While it won’t be any kind of drastic upgrade, Batman: Return To Arkham will include all dlc released for each game and these games will be running on the Unreal 4 engine, so they should look and perform notably better, as even Arkham Knight, which looked amazing, ran on Unreal Engine 3. Here’s a trailer for Batman: Return To Arkham, see if you can tell any big differences from the PS3/360 version:

Though the trailer just mentions “Summer 2016” as the release date, we can confirm (at least for the U.S. release) that Batman: Return To Arkham will come out for PS4 and Xbox One July 26th for the price of $49.99, according to IGN. That basically amounts to $25 per game, which if you have never played either game, or want a way to play them without digging out your old consoles, seems pretty fair.

Honestly the lack of any real new extras is what bothers me though. Arkham Asylum especially, was a landmark moment in gaming, especially for comic book games in general,  of which 95% were pure garbage at that point. I would love a documentary on how Arkham Asylum came together, and that seems like the perfect kind of extra for a remaster package. Still, barring any strange bugs, Batman: Return To Arkham will most likely be worth your time and money, especially during those slow Summer months. Once again, Batman: Return To Arkham releases July 26th for PS4 & Xbox One for $49.99.
