First Suicide Squad Screenings Happening?
Some very lucky people apparently got to see Suicide Squad yesterday!
Suicide Squad won’t be out in theaters for the general public to see for a few more months, but of course that doesn’t mean people won’t see it beforehand. Critics will likely get to see it before the rest of the general public, and some very lucky people might go to any early screening.
This was apparently the case yesterday, as a handful of people popped up on Twitter saying indeed they had gotten a chance to see an early screening of Suicide Squad. Unfortunately there’s no way to 100% verify this, but odds are a bunch of different people all saying they saw Suicide Squad is legit. They didn’t provide spoilers, but did give their thoughts on the film, which were overwhelmingly positive:
Additionally, high marks were given for Margot Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot and Jared Leto as Joker, with Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s Killer Croc providing most of the laughs. There weren’t really any specific comments about characters like Katana, El Diablo or Captain Boomerang, but that could just mean while good they weren’t the highlights of the movie.
Next: Jared Leto Had A Lot Of Fun On Suicide Squad
It’s very encouraging to hear these early positive reactions for Suicide Squad, but of course I remember the early reactions for Batman v Superman being equally enthusiastic. While that movie definitely has its fans, the general reaction was not positive. But honestly, Suicide Squad has looked great almost from the start (Joker’s somewhat controversial look notwithstanding) and like a very fun time at the movies, even if it’s with a bunch of homicidal maniacs. There will probably be more screenings in the near future, and I’d expect they will have similar reactions. We’ll see if Suicide Squad actually warrants these positive early reactions when it hits theaters August 5th.
