Fan trailer imagines The Accountant as a Batman Film

Believe it or not, Ben Affleck isn’t only doing comic book films for the next 10 years or so. After some high profile flops, he gained a lot of credibility back starring and sometimes directing in smaller, edgier and darker fare like Gone Baby Gone, Gone Girl and Argo. Ben Affleck’s next movie, “The Accountant” is more along those lines.

“The Accountant” stars Ben Affleck as a math genius who is also an introvert (and possibly slightly autistic, at least that’s what I gathered from the trailer), but also a highly skilled assassin. It is decidedly not a Batman film.

But what if it was? This fan trailer by Youtube user thatmattcaronguy, blends together elements of the trailer for The Accountant and the recent Batman v Superman movie, and it works together REALLY well, check it out below:

You know, this really doesn’t look half bad. Hell if you wanted to introduce a Batman that is drastically different but still essentially Batman to audiences, this wouldn’t be the most terrible premise. He’s super smart, can blend in so nobody notices him or thinks of him as a threat, and is highly trained to viciously kicks some ass. It’s almost like what if Clark Kent was a normal dude from Kansas with no superpowers but was super smart and became trained to be Batman. Like if this was Zack Snyder’s idea, a dark re-imagining of Batman and it looked like this, I’d be all over it.

The Accountant opens October 16th in theaters, and (most likely) won’t have Ben Affleck dressing up as Batman. But you can see him dawn the Batsuit again in Suicide Squad, which opens August 5th, and once again in Justice League: Part One, which opens November 17th of next year.
