This is it—the finale for Season Two of Gotham. In Season Two’s penultimate episode —“A Legion of Horribles“—Bruce, Jim, Lucius, and Alfred devised a plan to break into Arkham Asylum to search out Hugo Strange’s secret lab and save Selina Kyle. The three were soon caught, with Bruce and Lucius—under the threat of being gassed—being questioned by Edward Nygma, and Jim having his visage duplicated onto another inmate.
We also discovered that the corruption didn’t end with Strange. He actually reported to a higher authority—the Court of Owls. Though not explicitly named in the episode, the owl mask was enough of a giveaway to their existence and involvement with the death of the Waynes.
Though the three heroes were left in a precarious situation, there’s still hope for them. Their original intent was to save Selina. However, given their current predicament, Selina might be the one who saves them. Her run-in with her former friend—Brigit Pike who has now become Firefly—may have gained her a temporary ally, giving her an upper hand in navigating Strange’s treacherous facility.
This week, we’ll see how the Court of Owls will finally reveal themselves to Bruce, and if Hugo Strange will truly be brought to justice. Here’s the official synopsis for “Wrath of the Villains: Transference”:
"While Gordon, Bruce and Lucius remain at Indian Hill, the city of GOTHAM will be met with a new threat as Hugo Strange’s inmates devise a plan to escape and start their new lives in GOTHAM in the all-new “Wrath of the Villains: Transference” season finale episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, May 23 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX."
