Rumor: Batman’s Role In Suicide Squad

Batman might have a more limited role in Suicide Squad than you think

We know Batman is in Suicide Squad, but how much? It’s been hinted that he put every single person in the Suicide Squad away, so we might see him doing that. Will Smith also teased a confrontation between Deadshot and Batman in Suicide Squad, so there’s that. And of course we have seen him in a few spots in the trailer. Does he actually interact with the whole Suicide Squad? According to Batman-News, his role is more limited than that (POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR SUICIDE SQUAD FOLLOW):

Now, I’m chalking this up to a rumor for a couple reasons. Batman-News calls it “an exclusive” and they aren’t really known for breaking stories or getting exclusive scoops. The article says nothing about a source of any kind, confidential or otherwise, and everything stated in the article are things that were confirmed in earlier stories about the extent of Batman’s involement in Suicide Squad. But it definitely sounds very plausible. So with that in mind, here is what they are claiming is the extent of Batman’s role in the film:

Batman has a supposedly emotional scene with Deadshot, he does not interact much with the Joker, and he rescues Harley from drowning in car. He does not interact with the rest of the Squad in the movie.

Again, this is all things you can easily confirm through stories elsewhere or just  through trailers, and really nothing else to confirm that those scenes are the extent of Batman’s involvement in the film. So I find this “exclusive” news kind of suspect, but still totally plausible. We’ll of course find out for ourselves whether this is true when Suicide Squad opens in theaters August 5th.
