The Flash Season 2, Episode 23 Season Finale Synopsis: “The Race Of His Life”

On the Season Two Finale of The Flash, Barry—still reeling from the murder of his father—will discover Zoom’s ultimate plan.
Season Two of The Flash has come to this! And if the title of the episode—“The Race of His Life”—is any hint, it’s gonna be a crazy ride. Another season and another growth spurt for our Scarlet Speedster, along with more heartache.

Last week, on Season Two’s penultimate episode—“Invincible”—a Barry who was overwhelmed by an inundation of Earth-2 metahumans kept his chin up throughout the episode. The optimism was great, but it was also a slight cause for concern for the people who cared about him the most—namely, Henry. Why? Well, fear is something that keeps you alive. If you think you’ll win all the time, you just might let your guard down.
However, Barry, like always, reassured everyone that he was fine—and he was! With Harry creating a “knock-out” device that used the principle of Earth-2 beings vibrating at a different frequency, Team Flash was able to tear down Zoom’s army.
Like I said, Barry was fine … but that wasn’t the case with Henry. In the final scene, an enraged Zoom abducted Henry and took him back to Barry’s childhood home. As Zoom taunted Barry in their standoff, he plunged his fist through Henry’s chest. A horrified Barry could only stand there and watch helplessly.
It was the moment everyone feared. Barry is now on a dark path of vengeance. How will Barry recover from the murder of another parent? And how will he stop a villain who will do anything, no matter the horrors, to take over the world. Only the season finale can answer those questions. Here’s the official synopsis for “The Race of His Life”:
"THE FLASH VS. ZOOM – After Zoom (guest star Teddy Sears) reveals his true plan, Barry (Grant Gustin) vows to do whatever it takes to stop him. Antonio Negret directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing."
