Lex Luthor Will Be Back For Justice League

Jesse Eisenberg’s performance as Lex Luthor was certainly one of the more controversial parts of Batman v Superman. Some thought he had a great original take on the billionaire evil genius, others thought he acted like a bad imitation of The Joker or The Riddler. But like him or not, it seems like Eisenberg’s Luthor will be popping up in the DC movie universe at least one more time. Eisenberg revealed today that he will be in the upcoming Justice League movie.

Eisenberg couldn’t really say more about what his appearance entailed except that he’s still in “wait mode” so he hasn’t actually filmed any scenes yet, making it entirely possible he might just be in part two of Justice League and not show up at all in next year’s part one. Either way, Jesse Eisenberg is most likely your Lex Luthor for the foreseeable future.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Eisenberg’s portrayal of Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman, but he could be utilized quite well in Justice League. He could easily be a willing acolyte of Darkseid’s, helping facilitate an attempted takeover of Earth. Of course, that isn’t really true to Lex’s character. Lex Luthor usually doesn’t want someone ruling Earth unless it’s him, and at best would pretend to be a subject of Darkseid’s until he found a good moment to betray him. Unfortunately, the Lex Luthor portrayed in BvS doesn’t seem capable of hiding his true intentions all that well. We’ll just have to see what role Lex Luthor has to play in Justice League and possibly any future films in the DC Universe. Justice League Part One is filming now, and is due out November 17th, 2017.
