Jerome back for season 3 of Gotham?

Gotham fans were shocked when Jerome, whom some consider the Joker of Gotham was killed off earlier this season leaving questions as to whether or not we had misread his character and to possible scenarios in which we could see his character return to the show.

Fast forward a few weeks and we now know that not only was Jerome taken to Indian Hill where he was more then likely re-animated there is also a large chance he did not retain his memories. Given the fact that Jerome was only a couple steps away from the Joker in personality though a bit further in appearance this memory wipe could be the explanation for the Joker we all know.

While none of this has been confirmed we do know for a fact that his body was at Indian Hill we also know that we hear a laugh very similar to his during the escape. This has often been overlooked because of the amount of hints and teasers being dropped within the course of a couple of minutes. The most shocking of course being the Bruce look alike that has started many conversations and debates within the Gotham fandom.

When Jerome was first introduced as a possible Joker many fans where excited that Gotham was willing to tackle the origins of such a difficult character. Once the shock of his death has worn off fans have continued to push for his return. If things play out the way I believe they will Jerome will not only be back but be a featured characters in many stories to come.

While Cobblepot/Penguin is obviously the featured villain for the time being they can only feature him as a main character for so long. The same can be said for any number of villains the past two seasons have focused on if one their is one villains origins that fans will not tire of that is the Jokers.  Why not continue to tell the story of Batman’s future nemesis especially one with so many layers to explore. Gotham season 3 returns to Fox this fall.
