Maggie Sawyer
Maggie Sawyer is described as “an out and proud detective for the newly formed Science Police, which deals specifically with metahuman and alien threats.” In the comics, Sawyer is a Captain in the Metropolis Special Crimes Unit, and is adamant in proving that the law is much more effective than vigilantism. Her introduction to the show may be as an initial adversary to our Girl of Steel.
Lena Luthor
Lena Luthor is described as someone “who will be in the 25–35 year old range” and “arrives in town to get out from under the shadow of her infamous brother.” She’s “sexy and smart and determined to get what she wants.” Hmm, it sounds like that “go-getter” gene is expressed quite strongly in that family. Lena Luthor in the comics has quite a tragic history as she’s always been a pawn and used by her older brother in his battle against the Man of Steel. The show may finally give this character a break. Could there be a surprise twist where she becomes an ally?
Nick Farrow
Nick Farrow is described as a “brash leading man who butts heads with Kara at CatCo” who is “looking to make a name for himself in the news world, but the question of whether he can leave behind his former selfish and hedonistic ways will constantly arise.” In the comics, there is no character named Nick Farrow. However, that doesn’t mean he’s not another more famous character going by a pseudonym.
The Doctor
The Doctor is described as “the diabolical female leader of Project Cadmus who uses her surgical skills to implant prisoners with alien technology.” TVLine is speculating that this character is Serling Roquette going by another name. In the comics, she’s an ally to Kon-El—a.k.a Conner Kent / Superboy.
Snapper Carr
Snapper Carr is described as “a veteran journalist appointed by Cat to remake the news division by going old school.” TVLine emphasizes that this character should not be confused with the Justice League sidekick whose official name is Lucas “Snapper” Carr. It sounds like Snapper could become a type of mentor to Kara—who (after a promotion by Cat Grant in Season 1) is now a budding journalist.
