Detective Comics #935 Preview
Check out a preview of Detective Comics #935
In Detective Comics, Batman has decided to train what he considers the next generation of Gotham crime fighters, that being Red Robin, Orphan and Spoiler. But he’s not doing it solo. He has help with co-leader Batwoman, but also new former foe but potentially reformed ally Clayface. This new team debuted is Detective Comics #934. And surely, the teamed has gelled together perfectly and has no problems, right?
As you may have guessed, this new team of Gotham’s current and next generation of superheroes definitely has some kinks to work out. The preview panels all take place in what can only be described as Batman’s (or more appropriately DC’s) take on the X-Men’s infamous Danger Room, where sure, it’s for training, but since it’s for training super heroes to fight against super villains, it’s taken very seriously and people can get seriously hurt. In this instance, instead of robots of energy-based holograms, the “mud room” is basically powered by Clayface. Read the synopsis and get a preview of Detective Comics #935 below:
"“RISE OF THE BATMEN” chapter twoBatman and team find themselves in the crosshairs as the villain they’ve begun hunting turns the tables on them. Batman and Batwoman have the skills to survive, but do their young teammates? Is this where hero training ends in tragedy?"
Batman may be trying to lead a new team of heroes, and showing his more compassionate side by trying to redeem Clayface, but hey, he’s still Batman. As Nightwing can certainly attest, Batman is an extremely strict taskmaster, and I’m pretty sure Batwoman is on the same page with him on that matter. Is he actually pushing this next generation of Gotham’s heroes too hard, or really accurately preparing them for what lies ahead? Detective Comics #935 is available June 22nd.
