Get a sneak peek at Harley Quinn #29

The events of DC’s mega line-wide event haven’t quite hit certain titles yet. One of those is Harley Quinn. Harley Quinn actually may have the least drastic changes to her title, as while she is getting a costume makeover, Harley Quinn #1 starts in August, but will continue the storyline going on instead of starting at a new point and will still have the same creative team of writers Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti with artist Chad Hardin.

And while Batman and his team may be fighting giant monsters in Rebirth’s first big crossover event in September, Harley Quinn is fighting some gigantic enemies of her own in issue #29. Check out the official synopsis and a preview gallery below:

"What’s that you said? We couldn’t quite hear you. Did you say “Boy, I sure would love to see Harley fight giant transforming robots”? Well, that’s definitely what we heard! So we’re delivering!"

It’s actually not a big surprise that Harley Quinn is arguably seeing the least shakeup of any of the DC comics line. Obviously her current creative team is pretty happy where they are, and it is one of DC’s top-selling titles pretty much every month. It’s very much a DC version of Deadpool with lots of weird, 4th-wall breaking humor (there was even a recent storyline that completely spoofed Deadpool with a villain named Red Tool) but still doing it a unique way that doesn’t make it seem like it’s just aping that comic book. Of course, the one possible complaint I see here is that if Harley Quinn #1 isn’t a fresh start, new fans might be very confused. Hopefully they’ll take a couple of panels to explain things rather than a footnote saying ‘read issue x”. Harley Quinn #29 will be available this Wednesday.
