Justice League: Batman is Yin To Flash’s Yang
The relationship between Batman and Flash is one of two contrasting heroes in Justice League
Justice League isn’t coming to theaters until late next year, but it’s filming right now, and the cast and crew are talking about it now, with all sorts of news coming out. One of the biggest questions might be how the relationships between the various superheroes plays out in Justice League. Like, how does a young, generally happy go lucky speedster like The Flash get along with the usually dour, no nonsense Batman? Ben Affleck talked about how the relationship between these two legendary DC heroes plays out in Justice League:
"That’s interesting. There’s an element of that to it. There’s a quality to really what Ezra [Miller] does that is young and fun and full of life, and excited about what they’re doing that’s so in contrast to who Batman is. There’s a little bit of that natural yin and yang to playing scenes with him. There’s not the ward aspect to it, but there’s a little bit of the mentor — which you’d probably ask Ezra and he’d be like, ‘F*** that! He’s not my mentor!’ But I think there is a little bit. And it’s fun to play, definitely."

Even in his most positive portrayals, Batman has always been a pretty stark contrast to someone like The Flash. Like if you throw Batman a parade, he might begrudgingly show up for a few seconds if he’s cajoled into it by his friends and family. Flash would be on the float, basking in all the attention. And it’s only natural that as Batman is not just older, but been fighting crime way longer, the relationship between him and Flash would at least take on some sort of mentor/mentee aspect. Will hanging out will Flash actually make Batman a more positive person? Probably not to any significant degree, but maybe he’ll at least stop branding dudes before he sends them to prison. Justice League is currently filming and set to release November 17th, 2017.
