WB Games said their Return To Arkham remaster needs more time

Remaster are a dime a dozen in the current generation of consoles. So it’s no surprise that a few weeks ago a remastered collection of the first two Batman: Arkham games was announced titled Return To Arkham. Featuring revamped graphics and all the DLC, Return To Arkham was expected to come out next month on July 29th.

But now Warner Bros. has announced that Return To Arkham has been delayed until further notice. Warner Bros. released a short statement regarding the delay on their official forums:

"After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience. We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready. We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans"

This might possibly be related to lots of fans’ complaints about how the Return To Arkham remaster looked noticeably worse than the original games. But it was probably way more than that. Like I imagine after the Arkham Knight on PC debacle (and it wasn’t completely smooth on consoles either), WB wants to make sure there aren’t any major glitches plaguing their games. Delaying is certainly better than releasing a shoddy product. It is kind of astounding though, as previous to current gen remasters seem like an easy thing to do which is why they come out so often. We’ll keep you updated on when and if Return To Arkham has a new release date for Xbox One and PS4.
