A preview of Batman #2!

Batman #1 introduced us to Gotham’s newest superheroes, named Gotham (that won’t get confusing) and Gotham girl. And they are actually the city of Gotham’s first super-powered crimefighting duo. How does Batman feel about the appearance of these new heroes? At least at first, he seems pretty willing to just go along with it, as in this preview of Batman #2, the Caped Crusader is teaming up with Gotham and Gotham Girl to take down one of his most powerful enemies, Solomon Grundy! Ok, at least from these preview panels it actually seems like Gotham and Gotham Girl aren’t all that much help. I mean, Gotham gets thrown into a statue that starts collapsing by Grundy, and then Gotham Girl basically has to hold the statue up while Batman actually takes care of Grundy basically solo. Maybe that will lead to Batman giving them some lessons on teamwork when taking down a major bad guy.

So what is the deal with Gotham & Gotham Girl? Where are they from, how’d they get their powers? What is their end goal? Are they just altruistic crime fighters and will continue to be allies of Batman? I mean, probably not. We know where this is going right? Either Gotham (the superhero) & Gotham Girl have shady motives and are actually evil, or decided since Batman doesn’t have any powers, why should he even be protecting Gotham (the city). Either way, things are eventually going to come to a head between between the dark knight and the city’s newest pair of superheroes. The biggest question is probably whether or not he can handle them on his own, or he’ll need some outside help. Batman #2 will be available this Wednesday July 6th.
