2. Kill off Mr. Useless a.k.a. Malcolm Merlyn

Having Malcolm Merlyn as the main villain when Arrow first started was acceptable, for that reason and that reason only. Because it was the show’s first season, so since everything is getting set up, they could do whatever they wanted with the bad guy.

However, him still making regular appearances three years later, is ridiculous. I’m being entirely honest here, I don’t even remember what Merlyn’s goal was last season. That’s how bad the show has become, and that’s also how pointless his character is. We get it already, you love your daughter, so you constantly put either her or her friends in danger of being killed. Well, maybe we don’t get it, but still, that statement alone just proves how absurd he is.

Every single time he shows up in the same room as Thea, it’s the same situation all over again. It goes like this: Thea tells him to go away, and Malcolm says that he’s always going to do anything for her, because she’s his daughter. And finally, Thea complains about it by grunting a little bit, then replies with something along the lines of, “Would you stop saying that already?! If you really loved me, you’d leave me alone.”

Oliver has had multiple chances to kill him, and yet, he hasn’t, because he tries way too hard to be a Batman clone with his no killing rule.

Malcolm’s character is just flat-out obnoxious. Plain and simple.
