Batman v Superman Fan Edit Makes Superman More Responsible

This fan edit makes Superman seem way more directly responsible for the death of Wayne Enterprises employees in Batman v Superman

So I think we all know how Batman v Superman basically begins at this point. The opening scene is the battle at the end of Man of Steel from Bruce Wayne’s perspective. He’s got a building full of employees in Metropolis, and for some reason they were too stupid to immediately evacuate the building when two super powered aliens were knocking down high rises left and right. So Bruce tries to save them but fails as the tower is inadvertently destroyed in the fight. And thus he hates Superman because…. well yeah that isn’t very well explained in the movie either.

But this fan edit at least makes it a little more understandable, but that’s because it makes Superman look like a dick. In this fan edit of the opening scene from Batman v Superman, the fight between Superman and Zod from Man of Steel actually carries right into that Wayne Enterprises building, and it’s the direct resulting of Superman and Zod fighting in that building that makes it collapse. Now, you can give the argument that it was far more important that Superman chase Zod, but that’s kind of cold for him to just leave all those people to the mercy of the crumbling building, and that’s also not Superman, that’s actually a problem for him, he often lets the bad guy get away in order just to save a few innocent civilians. Like if this was in the movie, and you had Bruce Wayne watching footage on loop of Superman not saving those people when he clearly could have, I could buy into Bruce Wayne’s hate of Superman way more. But then that also makes Superman more of a dick than he already was. Batman v Superman is out on digital download now and on Blu-Ray and DVD July 19th.
