Superman vs… Harley Quinn?

Neal Adams talks about Superman vs. Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn can certainly hold her own against many heroes and villains in the DC Universe, but what about the most powerful being of them all? Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner are doing a take on the classic Superman vs. Muhammed Ali comic book story, but with Harley Quinn in the place of the greatest boxer of all time. And they brought legendary artist Neal Adams on to help with the story. Adams talked to Newsarama about the project:

"You know, it was presented to me as, simply, “how would you like to do a Harley issue?” Because we’re back and forth — me and DC Comics and editorial up there — about “Are you going to do Deadman next? Because Neal, you know, after all, we pay you so much money, you have to do something that makes money.”And I say, “OK.” What’ll that be? Well… will it be the next Superman thing? Will it be Deadman?“Well, how’d you like to do a Harley story?”“Hey! Let’s do a Harley story!”And then it turns out that the creators of Harley, Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner, were doing a take-off of Superman vs. Muhammad Ali, but make it Harley and Superman. And do the same type of story.I thought that would be great!"

The showdown will take place in Harley’s Little Black Book #5. The basic storyline is that the same aliens from the Superman vs. Muhammed Ali story, the Scrubb, have now enlisted Harley Quinn as their new champion. How they convince her to fight Superman or vice versa, who knows, but it should be a very fun time. Harley’s Little Black Book #5 will be available August 24th for $4.99.
