Everybody was pretty bummed when Scott Snyder announced he was leaving the main Batman comic just before DC’s big Rebirth event. Snyder and Greg Capullo had an epic 5-year run on the title making new noteworthy villains such as The Court Of Owls and giving us some of the best Joker & Riddler stories in years if not decades.

But it of course turned out that Scott Snyder was actually leaving Batman to work on… more Batman! With the new title All-Star Batman that debuts this August. And Scott Snyder is clearly pretty excited to be working on All-Star Batman, check out these tweets he’s recently posted with some very cool teaser images for the upcoming first issue:

And here’s a synopsis for All-Star Batman #1:

"My Own Worst Enemy” part one! Superstar writer Scott Snyder explodes into an all-new Batman series alongside legendary artist John Romita Jr., reimagining some of the Dark Knight’s greatest villains. First up: Two-Face! Batman must take Two-Face to a destination out of Gotham City, but the duplicitous villain has a two of spades up his sleeve. Every assassin, bounty hunter and ordinary citizen with something to hide is on their tails with one goal: kill Batman! Handcuffed together on the road to hell, this is Batman and Two-Face as you’ve never seen them before!"

Snyder has been able to do very cool new things with old Batman villains in the past, so I’m definitely interested to see his take on guys like Two-Face and Zsasz. But what might be even more intriguing is this “secret history of Robins” Snyder mentions. Wonder where they are going to go with that angle? Find out by picking up All-Star Batman when it comes out August 10th!
