Suicide Squad Takes Over Hard Rock Hotel At SDCC

The ultimate Suicide Squad experience will take place at the Hard Rock Hotel during next week’s SDCC!

Want to participate in the most immersive experience possible for the upcoming Suicide Squad film? You don’t even have to go to SDCC! While that will be packed with Suicide Squad stuff, the real event will be going down at the Hard Rock Hotel all day (well 10am-7pm) July 21st! Here’s a rundown of what you’ll be able to see and do:

The Hard Rock Hotel itself will be transformed into Belle Reve Penitentiary, this prison from Suicide Squad, where “you’ll be able to enjoy a virtual reality experience to fight alongside Squad members, get your own Suicide Squad tattoo at Harley Quinn’s tattoo parlor, and take special photo-ops in a recreation of one of Belle Reve’s jail cells.”

This extends to Samsung transforming their Samsung experience into a “real-life Suicide Squad Experience”, where in addition to custom tattoos and other “immersive film-themed experiences”

And you’ll be able to “Join The Squad”, where you can create your own Suicide Squad character and make a short video you can even share to various social media. You can even make your own customized skull icon like the ones shown on movie posters and put it on a t-shirt! Various cast members from the movie are also expected to make appearances.

You know, I can see what there is to see at San Diego Comic Con by staying at home, but this is the kind of stuff I would love to go to because it’s really something you have to experience. Hopefully somebody will posts videos and photos from this event and if they do we’ll be sure to post them here. SDCC runs July 21st-24th, and then Suicide Squad opens August 5th in Theaters.
