A sneak peek at Batman #3

Batman and the new heroes of Gotham, Gotham and Gotham Girl seem to be getting along swimmingly. But it has Batman wondering, is he really needed in the city anymore with these new, younger and more powerful superheroes watching the city? This preview for Batman #3 shows in it’s first pages the recreation of an historic yet tragic moment in DC history comic book fans (but really everybody at this point) are all too familiar with, but with a twist of this time someone there being around to stop it and of course that is Batman, who even gives some sage advice, check out a synopsis and preview for Batman #3 below:

Next: Retcon Of Killing Joke Retconned In Batgirl & The Birds Of Prey?

Ok I know Rebirth is supposed to be about injecting hope and optimism back into the DC Universe, and that applies even to Batman, arguably the darkest major DC hero out there. So while he may have this whole existential crisis going on at the moment of whether the city really needs him anymore now that we have this new generation of super-powered heroes, my guess is that while they will not turn evil he will discover that hey, just because there are these new people doesn’t mean Batman isn’t necessary anymore, and it will be a good thing. Batman #3 is available this Wednesday July 20th.
