Will Arnett Draws On A Deep Well For Lego Batman
Batman will have to battle his own demons and accept help if he wants to defeat Joker and other villains in the upcoming Lego Batman film
It might be a few years before we get a solo Batman movie with Ben Affleck, but the Lego Batman Movie is all set to make us laugh at the Caped Crusader like never before next February. Will Arnett is playing the Dark Knight, who is at his most egotistical and gloomiest. And Arnett talked with Entertainment Weekly about finding a voice for Lego Batman that was unique but still Batman:
"When we were first finding the Batman voice and finding what was making us laugh the first time around, it took us a beat to wade through the different things we liked and found funny about each Batman. I tried to look at all of the Batmen. Now, I feel like I’m in a zone where I’m just really lucky that I’ve got all of these great guys who played Batman before me, and the comics before that, and I get to draw on this deep well and just mix and match."
Arnett also talked about his dynamic with Zach Galifianakis, who plays the Joker in the Lego Batman Movie:
"Zach and I had a really fun session a little while back. I’ve known Zach forever. The dynamic we landed on for Batman and the Joker that really works for us, I would describe as… refreshing. It’s a little bit surprising. It’s not what people are accustomed to with regards to these two characters."

Also mentioned in the EW article is that members of the Justice League such as Superman and Wonder Woman will be in the film, though casting for those roles is apparently being kept under wraps. The Lego Batman Movie will opens in theaters February 10th, 2017 and looks to be just as funny as The Lego Movie was.
