#18 – MCU: News about the Defenders
On Netflix, we’ve had two very successful seasons of Daredevil and a phenomenal first season for Jessica Jones. Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the recently announced Punisher series are next. It’s only a matter of time before we start hearing news about The Defenders. Oh wait, we just did … a few months ago.
In April 2016, it was announced that the showrunners for the team-up show will be Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez, with Drew Goddard as the executive producer. Then, in May 2016, we received news that Jessica Jones Season 2 and The Defenders would be filmed back-to-back.
With Matt Murdock / Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage / Power Man, and Frank Castle / The Punisher having already made appearances, and casting already complete for Iron Fist, I wouldn’t be surprised if Marvel uses Comic-Con 2016 to show fans the first image of the Defenders assembled (taking that tagline from another famous Marvel team we all know and love) and ready to take on evil.
