#17 – DCEU: Man of Steel 2 Announcement

I know, I know. Zack Snyder went on record saying that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was the Man of Steel sequel. But it was mostly a Justice League lite movie with some smatterings of Superman. Then, they killed him right before the film ended.

What we do know is that Justice League will most likely happen before a Man of Steel 2 (if that’s what they’re even calling it). In recent interviews, Snyder has said that the upcoming Justice League will be mostly showing how Batman assembles the legendary team. Superman will definitely have a presence, but probably not until the second half of the film. As a Superman fan, I have to say this, “No bueno.”

I want a proper Man of Steel sequel that’s dedicated to Superman fighting a very powerful villain. There’s a myriad of super-villains we haven’t seen on the big screen—Brainiac, Metallo, the Ultra-Humanite, Parasite, Mongul … Take your pick. We’re in dire need of a dedicated Man of Steel 2 that develops this great hero’s character more.
