Comic-Con 2016: 26 Things We Hope To See

#10 – DCTV: Images and Footage of Tyler Hoechlin as Superman

In Season 1, Kara Zor-El’s famous cousin—Clark Kent / Superman—was teased multiple times (e.g. a silhouette with the face obscured, a rescue where the audience only saw red boots stomping to the ground, supportive emails from Clark to Kara, etc.) We never really saw his face or got a good look at him in action. He was pretty much used as a plot device and as a prop to further the message that “the Girl of Steel didn’t need her older, wiser, more experienced relative.”

Then, the reveal came that Superman would become a permanent fixture for Season 2 of Supergirl. Speculations ran rampant as to who would be playing the coveted role of the Man of Steel. Of course Tom Welling’s name came up multiple times, but that was a non-possibility given the face that Smallville is actually set in another universe.

Fans didn’t have to wait long for the announcement that Tyler Hoechlin of Teen Wolf fame won the role of Clark Kent / Superman. He’s got the build and the look, and we can definitely imagine him donning the famous suit and cape. However, we still want to see what The CW’s interpretation of Superman will look like. Hopefully, Comic-Con 2016 will show us Hoechlin as the first and greatest superhero of all time.
