Deadshot Featured In New Suicide Squad Trailer
New Suicide Squad trailer reminds us Deadshot doesn’t have any friends and doesn’t save anybody
Well we thought with Suicide Squad just a little over two weeks away the final trailer, focusing on Amanda Waller, the “puppet master” of The Suicide Squad, dropped yesterday. But it seems that may only be the first in a series of short trailers focused on each major character in the movie, as a mere day later we get one mostly focused on Will Smith’s character in the movie, the assassin Deadshot. Check out the trailer below, aside from offering new footage, I think it finally answers a long-standing mystery we’ve been wondering about for awhile now in a rather disappointing manner:
So you see the prison guard Will Smith is arguing with in the clip about the food? That is clearly Ike Barinholtz, whose role has been kept under wraps for months for some reason. And hey guess what, he’s nothing but a security guard that antagonizes Will Smith’s character. Will Smith will probably get to either beat up or kill him and either way he’s a character of no consequence in the film, much like Jena Malone in Batman v Superman. This will likely be the same for Scott Eastwood, who most likely also doesn’t have a significant role. The lesson here kids is if someone’s role in a major DC movie is being kept under wraps, it’s strictly to create false buzz and inevitably leads to disappointment.

So I guess a new one of these will be popping up for each character over the next week or so, we will certainly post them and analyze them ASAP when they do. Obviously if somebody doesn’t get a personalized trailer (I’m looking at you, Slipknot, the only character with virtually no merchandise) they probably aren’t surviving the film. Suicide Squad opens in theaters August 5th.
