3 Superheroes Who Deserve Their Own Rocksteady Game

Unfortunately, Batman: Arkham Knight left a sour taste in most people’s mouths.

More from Opinion

Despite that, the series has still received an enormous amount of praise, and is widely considered to be the best superhero game series of all time. We need more of those. There’s a shortage of good superhero games, and that truly is a shame.

To be completely honest, there’s more mediocre and bad games than there are good. From the infamously awful Superman 64 and Batman: Dark Tomorrow, to the adaptations of the Thor and Captain America movies.

That being, said, Batman isn’t the only hero that should get a great game series. There are so many characters—both heroes and villains—right at Rocksteady’s fingertips. Might as well use them.

Rocksteady obviously knows what they’re doing, so why not attempt to repeat that same success with other heroes? Here are five superheroes who deserve their own games.

Green Arrow

Similar to Batman, playing as Green Arrow would allow you to grapple onto tall buildings and beat thugs up using a variety of different fighting styles (duh). The fighting would also be much more acrobatic, seeing as how Oliver Queen is a pretty athletic dude.

But that’s not the only way him and the the Dark Knight would be alike. Since they’re both wealthy billionaires, each has tons of money to spend on gadgets, tools, resources and whatnot. This, for the Green Arrow, would mean using different types of trick arrows—like explosive or EMP types.

Not to mention, flinging arrows at your enemies would be just about the best thing ever. Just imagine sniping with your bow from fifty feet away, silently taking them down one-by-one, without them ever realizing what just happened. Yeah, you know that would be awesome.

Besides, it’s about time that the character got some well-deserved respect, other than in the comics. Because, let’s be honest, the show is constantly spiraling downward and is starting to tarnish his name.

The Flash

Obviously, the map size would probably have to be gigantic and relatively wide open (so that you wouldn’t be crashing into everything), due to how fast you’d be running.

It could incorporate something similar to Arkham Knight’s  skill tree, where, depending on how many experience points you have, you unlock different abilities such as throwing lightning bolts, creating tornadoes, and so forth.

In certain moments, preferably in some sort of fight scene, it’d be awesome to have everything around you occur in slow motion. One example of this could involve trying to save someone from being shot—with you sprinting alongside the bullet, having to outrun it.

Who knows, maybe in a DLC, we could get an extra mission that has you travel back in time.

Yes, figuring out the gameplay mechanics would be a bit challenging I’d imagine. But, if Rocksteady were able to pull it off, the game would be insanely fun.

Rocksteady, I don’t care whether the main character is Barry Allen, Wally West, or Jay Garrick. Just please make this happen.

Deathstroke

I know that Deathstroke technically isn’t a hero, but, I’m bending the rules here. Not only would a Deathstroke game give us a more personal look at the character, but it would also give us the best action in a Rocksteady game thus far.

Yeah, throwing Batarangs at people is fun and all. But, let’s be honest, shooting someone in the head as Deathstroke would be way more satisfying. The game should be extremely gruesome and bloody, of course, considering that you play as an assassin-for-hire.

I think it would be interesting if the game took place when Slade was first starting out, sort of like Batman: Year One. Plus, it would be awesome to hunt down superheroes like Batman and Robin. And the amount of weaponry you’d have at your disposal would be enormous.

Don’t act like you wouldn’t play this.
