Batman/TMNT Adventures Announced
Batman/TMNT Adventures will start this in November
Comics is full of weird crossovers, but few may be weirder (but more awesome) than Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s definitely one of those things that you’d think would only happen once.
But apparently Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was successful enough that they are pairing the Heroes In a Half Shell with the Caped Crusader once again. This new crossover series will start in November and be titled Batman/TMNT Adventures. This series will be written by Matthew K. Manning with art by John Sommariva.
As you can see from the featured image, Batman/TMNT adventures will at least look very different from the previous crossover. The previous crossover was the characters as they are more generally seen in comic book form. Batman/TMNT Adventures will be based on the characters as seen in Batman: The Animated Series and Nickelodeon’s current animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. Given that fact, you can probably assume that this crossover series might be a little more kid-oriented than Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Also no word on if this will have any continuity to the previous crossover series, but given the fact that it’s a different team, a very different art style and even different versions of the same characters, I’m going to go with no.
This also seems to be an ongoing series rather than the mini-series the previous crossover was. Which is great, I actually really like the idea of Batman and the Turtles just regularly teaming up.

I’ve only read bits and pieces of Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so far (I’m waiting for the trade, which should be out in a month), but what I read seemed incredibly fun as someone who has been a longtime fan of both franchises. Even if Batman/TMNT adventures is more kid-friendly and doesn’t connect to the previous crossover, it should be a fun book.
