Bader & Conrory Talk Justice League Action
Justice League Action is set to be filled with humor, action and tons of Easter Eggs
Justice League Action is the newest animated series featuring DC’s best heroes in action and is set to debut this fall on Cartoon Network. The episodes will be short, around 11 minutes instead of the usual 22 or so, but as Diedrich Bader, who plays Booster Gold in the series (and played Batman in Batman: The Brave and The Bold) points out, that allows you to skip the first act and get right to the action and humor. And Justice League Action probably packs more humor in than most previous super-hero animated shows because it actually plays off some of the odd pairings that must eventually happen in what’s essentially the biggest superhero club in existence. Teams like say Booster Gold and Batman.

I do really like the look and feel of Justice League Action, and I’m all for a show with more humor infused into it and tons of Easter Eggs thrown in. However, I’m still really not sold on the shorter format. Sure, it does allow for tight compact stories but the longer format also really allowed for grand, sprawling multi-episode arcs, some that ran for pretty much a whole season (and even had calbacks in later seasons, sometimes even previous shows), and hey, people really really liked those. I’m still certainly willing to give Justice League Action a chance, let’s just hope it’s much closer to the older Justice League shows and not more reminiscent of say Teen Titans Go which I’m not a fan of. Justice League Action debuts on Cartoon Network this fall.
