They forgot to check Batman’s teeth in this Detective Comics #937 preview

This preview of Detective Comics #937 might be the funniest bit of Batman comic pages I’ve seen in a long time. Batman, whether it be the main comic or something like Detective Comics is generally a fairly serious book, so you don’t expect much in the way of humor. And the situation itself certainly isn’t a funny one. Batman has been captured by this mysterious new organization, The Colony, in the Rise Of The Batmen storyline. Now in Detective Comics, Batman does have a team he’s actively working with, comprised of Batwoman, Red Robin, Spoiler, Orphan & recently maybe reformed foe Clayface, but in this preview he’s being held all alone so it’s up to him.

The humor comes from the two nameless henchmen of The Colony examining Batman’s equipment, namely his utility belt. Just how many goddamn things does he have in there? And how much of that is just Batarangs? And why isn’t his masked remove? Oh because if it’s not done properly it fries somebody. But they forgot one simple rule, when you capture Batman, you better not only take his equipment, but probably a full body cavity search and whatever else you can do as well.
