Gotham Season 3: Cult Of Joker & More
The Court Of Owls is just the surface of all the craziness that can happen in the third season of Gotham
Gotham is coming back for its third season in less than two months, and with last weekend being San Diego Comic Con, the cast and crew on hand had plenty to say about the upcoming season. Season three of Gotham will most certainly deal with The Court Of Owls, the shady secret organization that was funding Dr. Hugo Strange’s experiments and might secretly run Gotham from the shadows, but that’s hardly all.
The Court of Owls is one thing, but could we also see at some point another legendary villainous organization, The Demon’s Hand, led by none other than Ra’s Al Ghul? Gotham executive produces John Stephens teased ““[It’s a] conversation that we’ve had a lot, but it’s a big step we would take if we ever took it.”
Of course Ra’s Al Ghul already appeared on one DC TV show, as he was the major villain of season 3 of Arrow, but of course the CW DC shows and Gotham aren’t really connected in anyway, so they could easily do a very different take on one of Batman’s top villains.
Season 3 of Gotham will also address the idea of the Joker, that a cult will rise around him. A return for proto-Joker Jerome is not ruled out (after all, several villains came back from the dead in season 2), but the focus will be more on the cult aspect that allows someone like the Joker to come into being and how that affects Gotham.
Finally, Michael Chiklis will be returning as Captain Barnes for Gotham season 3 after being stabbed and left in critical condition. But Chiklis teases something terrible happening to Barnes in season 3, that’s he’s surprisingly really excited for:
The tagline for Gotham season 3 is “heroes will fall”, that certainly seems to be the case with all this going on. Gotham returns for season 3 on Fox September 19th.
