Margot Robbie Talks Harley Quinn Movie

Margot Robbie claims a Harley Quinn movie isn’t a definite thing, but talks about what she’d like to see in one

It’s pretty clear that Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn is set to break out as one of the big stars as Suicide Squad. Add to that the fact that the character is the most popular female character in comics today and a solo Harley Quinn movie seems like a no-brainer. In fact, it’s been reported that Harley Quinn would be the center of a female-centric DC movie along with several other possible Suicide Squad movies.

So of course Margot Robbie was recently asked about the possible upcoming spin-off film, and she was understandably not confirming or denying such a project was in the works, saying “we’re not sure”. She did however say what she would like to see in such a spin-off:

"Just more of Harley. I’m just so not done playing that character and there’s so much more to do with her – and as anyone who’s read the comics knows, there’s a million different storylines to explore. There’s just so much you can do in the DC Universe so I think it would be cool."

I think at this point the only way we don’t see a Harley Quinn spin-off film is if Suicide Squad is massive bomb. Unfortunately, with Batman v Superman not meeting expectations, it’s been put in this position it was never meant to be a some potential savior of the DC film universe instead of this weird offside thing, so I don’t know if it will live up to those kind of expectations, but unless it just flops horrifically and Margot Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn is pointed out as one of the lowlights of the film, odds are we are getting at least one Harley Quinn movie down the line. See her first in Suicide Squad when it opens in theaters next Friday, August 5th.
