Suicide Squad Clip Makes One Death Really Obvious

New Suicide Squad pretty much gives away at least one death in the movie

POSSIBLE HUGE SPOILERS FOR THE SUICIDE SQUAD MOVIE, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON’T WANT THE MOVIE SPOILED

Even though it’s a PG-13 comic book film, with a movie like Suicide Squad, where a team of deadly supervillains is sent on a suicidal mission they probably won’t make it back from, you’ve got to have at least a couple people die, or there are no stakes, even if it’s just to show the “good guys” mean business.

The premise of Suicide Squad is that once these villains complete some of these nearly impossible missions, they’ll get time off their sentences. But they usually aren’t on the team by choice. Each is implanted with a bomb in their neck that will explode if they try to escape or just go too far off from orders, or hell if Rick Flagg is just having a bad day. But how do they know that’s a real threat unless one of them blows up trying to escape?

Though not shown in the below clip, it’s pretty much implied that is going to happen, and you can take a pretty easy guess as to who. Who isn’t in most of the scenes of the trailer? Who doesn’t have much merchandise? That’d be Slipknot, the deadly master or rope tying. This clip from Suicide Squad shows Captain Boomerang planning his escape from Task Force X, and getting Slipknot  to escape with him. He tells Slipknot he doesn’t think the bombs are real, and Slipknot seems to believe him. Check out the clip below:

Captain Boomerang may be a goofball, but he’s not stupid, he’s clearly going to let Slipknot test out if these bombs are in fact real, and will obviously find out that they are and Amanda Waller is not messing around. Suicide Squad opens August 5th, and we will see if Slipknot is the only casualty of the film.
