Arkham Knight GOTY Edition Soon, Maybe?

Arkham Knight GOTY edition might be out in some places, maybe here soon?

Arkham Knight was one of the most highly praised games of last year (except on PC, we don’t talk about PC) and had a ton of dlc released for it (which was less well praised), so it seems that a GOTY edition containing all that DLC and the various updates was an inevitability. And a GOTY edition of Arkham Knight has been repeatedly leaked and listed on various sites off and on for several months now. So there’s almost definitely an Arkham Knight: GOTY edition coming any day now, but when?

Well apparently it’s out in mainland Europe now. Like available in stores to pick up, as this website reports you can order it from certain European online retailers and there are physical copies in a local German electronics retailer. So when is it coming out here? I guess sometime soon? It might be out in Canada next week according to another website. Granted, the GOTY edition of any game is almost never a big noteworthy release so WB & Rocksteady can just drop it in stores and online without much notice, but there should be a press release or something. It’s just odd.

But if we are being completely honest, as someone who played through both Arkham Knight and all it’s story DLC, I can honestly say that unless the GOTY edition is like $20 brand new, it’s not worth it (and it’ll probably be $40). Sure, there’s plenty of extra content, but it’s extremely underwhelming. The main game is great with only a couple of gripes (i.e. too much Batmobile) so just go and pick that up if you haven’t already, it’s less than $14 on Amazon for PS4 as of this writing (and only a little more on Xbox One). If the GOTY edition suddenly drops though, we’ll be sure to let you know.
