How Is Cast Of Suicide Squad Handling The Reviews?

The cast of Suicide Squad reacts to the nasty reviews the film has gotten so far.

The crowds might be loving Suicide Squad, with it projected to have a record-high August opening and actually doing well on the crowd scores for sites like Rotten Tomatoes. But the film critics, people professionally paid to review these things, are telling a different story, and have overall been pretty vicious about a couple particular elements of the film. Even most of the bad reviews highlight Will Smith, Margot Robbie & Viola Davis as standouts, but cite the movie’s plot, direction, editing and poor performances of several other cast members as reasons it’s a terrible film.

So how have they been reacting to the critical thrashing of Suicide Squad, Smith (who again got high praise from even most of the negative reviews) took it in stride:

"I think people had expectations that may have been different, but I’m excited for the fans to get to vote"

Cara Delevigne, who plays Enchantress in the film, seems to be one of the more universally panned aspects of Suicide Squad, took it a little harder:

"The critics have been absolutely horrific, they’re really, really horrible. You know, I just don’t think they like superhero movies."

Suicide Squad Director David Ayer has easily been the most vocal about the harsh reviews, claiming such good old standbys as he made the movie for “the fans” and for “real people who love movies”.

Ok, I hated BvS and have hated it more every time I’ve seen it (which is three now and will probably be more in the future due to the nature of this jpb). But I enjoyed Suicide Squad even with it’s admitted issues (of which the script, directing and Delevigne are definitely a few of). I don’t think it deserves the massive thrashing it’s been getting, that’s for sure. Suicide Squad is in theaters now.
